Default Unable to Move Users to a Domain or Delete Domain

We are working on setting up a test environment here. We set up the original install with the wrong domain. Once up and running, we created a new domain, moved the accounts and went to remove the original domain. We are unable to delete the domain and are unable to create accounts (or move accounts) into the original domain. The errors are as follows:

# ./zmprov ra mailadmin@some.long.domain.com mailadmin@domain.com
ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: unable to rename account: 84910151-351d-11da-b0e9-0b010f593cc1) (cause: javax.naming.NamingException [LDAP: error code 80 - new superior not found])

# ./zmprov dd domain.com
ERROR: account.DOMAIN_NOT_EMPTY (domain not empty: domain.com)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Justin

THe issue here is that the new domain is a subdomain of the old. What you need to do is create a 3rd domain (eg, foo.com), and move all of your users to that domain. Once done, remove the original domain (subdomain.domain.com).

To remove the other domain (domain.com), you'll have to do it directly in ldap (with an ldap browser, or with ldapmodify). (This is a known bug).

Once that's done, recreate domain.com, move your users to it, and delete foo.com.
