Default Wrong time shown on e-mails.

Hello all,

I have a peculiar problem. A few of my users including myself have incorrect arrival time shown on zimbra e-mail for example, the e-mail time is shown 10:39 am instead of real time 11:39 am. The strange thing is, the rest of the users have correct real time shown on zimbra. I have check the zimbra preferences time and default timezone is correct. Windows time is also following the real time.

So what could be wrong? thanks for any reply and ideas....

Are you able to post the headers and the relevant log entries from /var/log/zimbra.log ?

By the way, is there other simpler way of getting the relevant headers and log entries in a proper format. I used nano to cut and paste to a text file and it does take some time... I am still newbie in linux and would like to have efficient way of extracting information. Thanks again for any input.

I have set it as GMT +10 Canberra/Melbourne/Sdyney.

However i found that when i use other PC to login zimbra the time is shown correctly. I check the timezone used, it shows GMT 1000 Auto detected. I change it to GMT +10:00 Canberra/Melbourne/Sdyney and it still shows the right mail arrival time.

Default Problem solved with end of daylight saving...

Hello uxbod,

Yesterday the daylight saving time end....and the wrong time on e-mails is now correct. The ones that was not affected by this problem is showing the correct time as well... So it seems to me this is more of a PC problem than zimbra problem... Though I still could not figure out how could this happen since the PC time and timezone on both windows and web UI is right. If you have any ideas or suggestions please share with me.

Hello, i have the same problem, however, on my computer it's like this:

If I open the web-interface with GoogleChrome, i get the wrong time.
If I open the web-interface with firefox, i get the right time.

We have right now summertime, which changes effectivly the time from UTC + 1 to UTC + 2. So the Timezone is set correctly, local and server time all is correct, but somehow the javascript interpreter inside the browser in google chrome has a display / calculation problem.

I guess I will file a bug against chrome.

Can you check which browsers (+versions) are doing the wrong thing in your organisation?

best
Ray
