validate zimbra account from externally

hi guys,

I have an smtp daemon, written by our company that doing the mail receiving.
This daemon will validate the destination account before accepting the email.
What is the best way to validate zimbra account including alias, dist list ..etc.

I know "zmprov gmi <acct>" can be used but it seems to be slow.

Will your SMTP daemon support LDAP lookups ? If so take a look at /opt/zimbra/conf/main.cf for how Zimbra looks up the accounts.

thank uxbod, I didn't find main.cf but found ldap-*.
By using ldapsearch, I can find thing quicker.
