Default Web interface

Hi,

I have been having major speed problems with the web interface and read in the forums that it can be improved by a production deploy of the web client. I haven't found any documentation and find the slowness to be a major obstacle to me using Zimbra.

Thanks for your help

The production deploy method only helps those who install/built from the source. If you took a binary build then by default what you get is the production deployed build.

How did you install?

Can you post the specs (CPU/RAM/HD/OS) of your server and client?

KevinH,

Thanks for the reply, I am installing on:-

Intel PIII 800 Mhz Processor
512 Mb ram
120 Gb HD
Fedora Core 4 - All updates applied, installed by RPM

The client machine I am testing on is a P4 2Ghz, 512Mb ram on a local ethernet connection to the server, have tried firefox and IE but noticed no difference.

Thanks

Your server is on the very bottom of our requirements for a server. Not a very quick CPU and with only 512 of ram we can't even get all the cache we need. So things will work but you shouldn't expect any blazing perf.

FYI: You'll want a 2Ghz+ CPU and 1GB+ RAM on the server to get the most out of our code.
