Default ZCS 5.0.11 - Expiration of items in Trash after x days question

Hey All,

This is a stupid/basic question and may have already been answered somewhere (I just don't know how to search for it). Feel free to flame me into wherever this has already been answered.

I have configured Zimbra so that items in trash are deleted after 90 days. My question is, is this 90 days based on the date of the e-mail, or the date of when it's put in the trash? I ask because I want to be sure I tell my users how the 90 days is determined.

Many, many thanks in advance!!!!

It's a good question.

If nobody answers, I think you could test it by creating a COS with shorter lifetime for trashed items, and assign a test account to that COS.

According to the documentation, it's the number of days a message remains in the Trash folder before it is automatically purged.
