How to find a disappeared email

Hi,

it seems we have lost an email we sent.
The mail was received by the recipient and I can see the log entries coming from amavis.
The mail can not be found in the senders account, nor anywhere else on the server.
I restored the account to the stat 5 minutes after the mail was sen-> no mail.
The user is sure not to have deleted the mail. And even if so, it must have been in the trash folder.

Now my question. Is there any way to see what happened to the mail in the logs?

How can a message get lost like that?

Have you tried re-indexing the mailbox from the Admin GUI ?

No not yet.
But by now a grep over the whole mailstore is done and the mail is not in the store.

Will try it anyways.

OK, the re-index did not change a thing.

All would lead to the user deleting it though to be honest.
