Default [SOLVED] zimbra upgrade

Hi,

Finally I am planning to upgrade my zimbra server from zcs 4.5.10 to zcs 5.0.13 tomorrow night.

I tried direct upgrade on test server from zcs 4.5.10 to zcs 5.0.13 and that worked with out issue.

I have one concern, in near future we will get multiple clients and it will need sufficient disk space ..so i have another activity to migrate my /opt/zimbra from current storage partition to newly assgned (200 GB ) storage - ISCSI partition. ( we can not extend the partition so migrating it to another partition )

So just was thinking in furure if again i need to extend the partition..so have to schedule downtime...n with multiple customer it will be pain ...so is it possible to make storage partition as LVM partition and mount /opt/zimbra so in future i can extend it without downtime ?? Pls confirm it will be the good way ?/ as LVM alos using ext file system....is there any issue with LVM partition + zimbra combination..just want to confirm ..

And i am going to do both task ( upgrade + partition migration ) tomorrow with planned downtime..
so in which sequence i should do it ...
1. Take multiple backup of zimbra
2. Upgrade zcs 4.510 to zcs 5.0.13
3. restart zimbra check is it working or not.
4. If it worked then migrate the partition to new storage partition.
5. check teh permission and ownership as per teh procedure and start zimbra

Pls suggest ...is it the right sequence ??

thanks

Should be no problems at all using LVM and will provide you with long term benefits ... As long as you have good working backups then go for it
