Here's the /var/log/zimbra.log entry from the message that came through munged.

What client is this sent from? Is it a common email client like Outlook or Thunderbird? Seems from the headers at some point it hits an Exchange server.
The client sending the message is Outlook through an Exchange based email system.
Should this be reported as a bug or do you think something else is going on?
Seems like a bug in amavisd-new please file it with the examples attached. This way we can try to reproduce it in house. Can you reproduce this with all attachments? Just this one attachment? All attachments over a certain size?
Before you file a bug, have you turned amavis off, and resent the message?
Also - how big is this thing? Is it larger than your max_message_size? It's certainly larger than amavis is willing to have SA scan - is the zip file password protected? ClamAV will flag that as a virus, if so...
No, I have not turned amavis off. How do I do that?
The message itself is small. No where near max_message_size. The problem does not occur with any regularity. The only way I can reproduce it is when I know a particular attachment gets munged, I can reproduce with that attachment. But, if I try another of similar size or file type, it goes right through.
I'm having a similar issue - our fax server attaches .tif files in a multipart/fax-message format -- the message shows a paper clip but when you open it there is no attachment.
Attached is the full file of an example.
This appears to be a bad MIME message. Claims to be multipart but is just one part. I'd recommend you file a bug in bugzilla and attach this message.Originally Posted by lhughes
Any other thoughts on this issue? Today I received an email with two attachments. Both Word documents. One document came through fine. The other one did not.
It's getting to the point where I am seriously contemplating shutting off my Zimbra server as I can't trust that the attachments people are sending me are going to make it through.
