Changing how addresses are shown in the GAL

Hi,

I'm currently migrating from Lotus Bloats to Zimbra and using the Outlook plugin. The GAL currently lists users using their Zimbra account name (ie username@domain) rather than the (preferred) firstname.lastname@.. aliases.
The main reason why I configured the Zimbra accounts as username@ rather than firstname.lastname@ is that we are authenticating them off our AD domain rather than having separate passwords for email.

Is there a way I can change the GAL so that it uses their firstname.lastname alias? I'm getting grief because people apparent email address is changing..
