Default Create custom bounce

Hellow,

We are migrating to a new domain. For that reason we are looking for a way to tell the people who still send mail to the old-addresses, that they will need to start using the new domain addresses.

Now we thought that sending a custom bounce would be the best deal. But how can we implement this? And is there a way to do this without having to edit the files directly? Or are there better ways to handle this issue?

For the record we don't want to use auto-reply.

Sincerely,
Christophe

Welcome to the forums

I think you will need to edit some files :- How To Configure Custom Postfix Bounce Messages | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

I assume you no longer have this domain, or any control of it... but if you did, it is trivial to add the old domain to Zimbra and create an alias for the user@old_domain to point to the user@new_domain. Again - you probably already knew this, but if not, and if you DID still have access/control of your old domain... that is the easier way to go.

@uxbod

Thank you and thanks for that link. I checked it out but the first commando is already giving me an error. Since we don't have postconf on the server installed.

@gnyce

Actually we do still have access to the old domain. Problem is that we want to let it die out and therefore the alias isn't really an option because when we dump the old domain there will be no more forwarding.

Sincerely,

Christophe

You should have postconf ? What version of ZCS are you running
Code:
su - zimbra
zmcontrol -v
Have a look under /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin.
