Will the Alert Server include sending an alert for when a Task's due date expires?

I use the Tasks feature to manage my tasks. I had a task set to be due last week months ago. For some reason, I mistakenly thought that particular task was due next week. Had I been alerted, I could have finished the task on or before the due date.

An alert via email and/or popup would be great and Tasks that much more helpful.
