GAL search in Find Attendees

I have a strange issue. I configure my domain GAL as "both" and pointing to an extrenal LDAP server, and auto-complete from GAL turned off.

If I search the GAL via the mail interface or address book interface for "Smith" I get all 72 matches. However is I search the GAL via the Find Attendees tab in the even creation interface I only get the first 6 matches. For Thomas I get all 30 results from the first two cases, but only 3 via Find Attendees.

Is there some setting I'm missing and is anyone else seeing this issue?
