Default Can't always View as HTML

I have a user who does not have the View as HTML option for some of his attachments that he can normally view this way. He has some PDF files, some Excel workbooks, and some Word documents that will allow him to download, but there's not View as HTML option. I don't know if other users have experienced this or not, though no one else has brought it to my attention.

There's nothing particularly unique about these files. In fact, some of them are quite plain (no graphics, just text).
  1. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this. If so, have you determined the cause?
  2. Is there any way to "fix" existing attachments so that they are able to be View(ed) as HTML?
Thanks

you should check convertd.log and see if it provides any clues.

I'll do that. Most of the user's attachments are just fine. In fact, I did a test. I saved one of them, created a new mail, and then attached the file. It worked just fine. So, it had nothing to do with the content of the attachment.

I'm wondering if there is a way to re-HTML-ize failed conversions?

What exactly triggers the html conversion? Would exporting mailbox and reimporting it likely work?
