My guess would be that the box is going to another DNS server. /etc/resolv.conf is pointing to 127.0.0.1, but when I do nslookup on baerconsult.com, it points to the public IP address of my website. If it was truly checking itself, wouldn't it return the private IP of the mail server given the A record?

One item you didn't post was what's in your /etc/resolv.conf, please post the details.

Have you also disabled iptables and SElinux on this server?

Code:
[w3badm1n@mail ~]$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
search baerconsult.com
nameserver 127.0.0.1
I have double checked and IPTables is not running. I did have SElinux enabled, I disabled it, rebooted, to no avail.
