Default Adding client X-Originating-IP

Hey All,

We're trying to change the X-Originating-IP in our multi-node zimbra installation to reflect the true client IP rather than the proxy IP.

Has anyone done something similar?

I see there's a zimbraSmtpSendAddOriginatingIP setting, but it only has a boolean TRUE/FALSE value. For client connections from Thunderbird etc, we go through our Ironports and add the originating client IP. We'd like to be able to do the same for webmail sessions. Currently we see only the proxy IPs in webmail X-Originating-IP values.

Not sure if our setup will help, but it's 5.0.12 running on 3 proxies and 6 mailstores behind an F5 load balancer that puts each of the proxies behind a single IP.

Is this a feature request?

Thanks!

yes, I have the same problem too..

basically with the same configuration as above..

it's only not working for the webclient, if you're using POP3 or IMAP,
which in that case you're communicating directly to the mta server,
it would display the client's IP in the header..
but if you're using webmail, then it would be the webmail server IP..

anybody would be so kind to explain step by step to have the client x-originating-ip configured?

thanks a lot..

Or maybe it's not a bug, just the way it is?

Please help from all Zimbra Guru..

The webmail IP showing is fixed in latest RC and Stable version. To be honest, I tried making it work with RC but it was not working (for me at least). I have not yet installed 6.0 stable but I hope it will work there fine.
