expected behavior of forwarding messages with images

upgraded to 5.0.12 last night, happy it seems to have fixed most of the issues with inline images. one question though

if you're set to compose in text mode, and you forward a message that had an inline image, it does not attach the image at all unless you go to options and say 'include original as attachment' which then attaches the whole e-mail.

is this the expected behavior? i thought that normally if you forwarded a html message that contained images as text, it would attach the images. can anyone running a older version out there see if this is how it always was or is this a bug in 5.0.12.
