Default authenticate to OS X server

Has anyone been able to get zimbra to authenticate to OS X server's ldap implementation? I would like to install zimbra but also see no point in maintaining two separate user/ password databases. Isn't this the heart of what LDAP is for?
If anyone has done this or knows how I would very much like to know.

Hasn't authenticating against another LDAP server been covered a few times in the forums, have you done a search?
