Object model for integrated collaboration

Request: Would one of the lead ZCS developers (architect, administrator) be willing to discuss possible relevance of a standards-based collaboration object model for enterprise collaboration? I would like to determine whether a new standards effort to define this model (+ interface and protocol) might constitute an interesting technical activity for Zimbra.
