Default imap proxy

hi,

My users get authenticated through external ldap. Right now my users are using imap proxy (not zimbra) to reach their mailbox servers. Now my question is: I am planning to install zimbra proxy which directly points to mailbox servers. The main concern on this if I have to make changes (major/minor) in my mailbox servers which I will not be doing at least in this testing phase.

Need input.

Thanks
Paras.

When you configure zimbra's proxy you can specify what ports it runs on:
Multiple-Server Installation

Try configuring the proxy ports on a non-standard port for testing?

My concern is on to make changes in my existing mailbox servers where i won't be installing zimbra. I won't be changing anything in my production mailbox servers.

What i need is to replace my existing non zimbra imap proxy with zimbra network edition imap proxy. Is it doable without changing anything in my non zimbra mailbox servers?

Thanks
Paras.
