Tow simple questions about the GAL

Hello,

1. I have been ask if I can change the small icon of the distribution list. When I compose new mail I want to pull an email from the GAL, it contain the all accounts and the distribution list, I noticed that all are having the same icon, is it possible to make a different between both?

2. Another question which is is it possible to modify the GAL from the advance interface when we compose new message to expand the distribution list in order to show what it contain?

Thank you for your links, in my case I'm able to see the DL but in the same Icon of the contact, so is that bug also or I can split it by changing the icon?

I would recommend filing a RFE unless you wish to find it in the source code! This may be beneficial to others so I would go with the first option.

Re Bug 34429 - Tow questions about the GAL

They should have different icons - see attached pic.
Version your using?
Or are you asking how to change it in general?
Please attach a pick of where they don't or what your describing.

Hello,

I'm using the Yahoo Skin, from the client interface, when I click on TO field it call an ajax request to pull the contacts, in this case there is no different between the distribution list and the user, I wanna make a different between both by changing the icon "at least". One this issue is solved I have another issue with the same interface which is couldn't expand the distribution list in order to view what it contain?

Thank you for your cooperation, but my GAL configuration is internal and there is no option in the Admin Consol to change or to select the user2 to be in mailed contacts and user/user3 in the GAL.

What I'm seeing from the Mail client is all the accounts plus the DL.

If your talking about global distribution lists it's not possible at the moment vote for Bug 7554 - Cannot view distribution list members when composing message

If your talking about personal contact groups we do show a different icon for those:

And when clicked insert the members into the field:

Are you sure these users aren't in the Emailed Contacts folder?
Once you create a local contact for an email address the gal for them is no longer displayed in compose. However you can still use the main search bar > company contacts.

You can toggle Options > Contacts > Auto-complete includes addresses in the Global Address List.
