Default [SOLVED] MX record points to..?

In multi node installation, where is the mail MX usually pointed in DNS? To the webmail/mailbox node or to the MTA node?

i've wondered the same thing actually. the mailbox servers runs an mta of course because it has to communicate with the separate mta server to send and receive. If you had the mx record pointing directly to the mailbox server you would not get any spam/virus scanning of course, but if you have an edge server that does this it shouldn't matter. Try pointing your mx record directly to the mailbox server and let us know the results
