Question [SOLVED] To Upgrade or not to upgrade

I am still using 5.0.4 ZCS NE

Are there any performance reasons or serious bug reasons that should compel me to update my ZCS?

thanks in advance

you should read the release notes for each version to see what the changes are for each version and decide for yourself.

i usually don't upgrade unless there is a particular bugfix i've been waiting for or a feature i'd like to use, hence while i'm still running 5.0.10.

Well I did read the docs. Nothing really jumped out out as a serious issue. However, while the latest release is 5.0.11 and I am running 5.0.4 I figured I should consider staying with the program and keeping things current.

According to the docs: To upgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.0.11 all I need to do is run the install as an "upgrade [Y]". However, good maintenance practices tend suggest backing up as much as possible. Anyone know if there is a rollback procedure if things get screwed up?

What would be the vital areas to back up? And what would be the best way?

you're running the network edition so zimbra should be backing itself up already try this

Code:
su - zimbra
zmbackupquery
that should show you when/if backups were run.

unfortunately there is no quick rollback of a version, if something goes wrong you should contact support to help. that being said most people have nothing but success with upgrades
