Default Changed root password on my server now mail wont work

Mail is hung in the queue and won't move in or out. The only thing I did this morning was change the root password and reboot.

What do I need to do to get this working again?

All services are running and there are no errors that I can find. Mail is just not moving through the queue.

There should be errors in the log files about why the mail is being deferred. Did you restart Zimbra and/or reboot this server? Which release and version of Zimbra and which operating system? Do you actually mean the system root password (not any Zimbra passwords) on this server?

In /usr/share/file there are magic files that you can't move or delete. Apparently. Found this out the hard way.

Put them back, and all is well.
