Default Dropped Messages Within The Domain

Hello

I am using Zimbra Open source, with Zimbra desktop.

The particular customer I am having this issue with uses varing versions of Zimbra Desktop. Nothing older than .91 though. The server is running 5.0.7_GA_244.RHEL5.

My customers have been having issues with sending and receiving 'some' mail from within the domain only.

I assumed Zimbra would add the host ID to the mydestination line in master.cf. And it isn't there.

Before I add it I wanted to check with the Zimbra Pros, to make certain there wasn't a reason that wasn't added in.

This is my first customer using Zimbra. So I've been tring to be cautious with everything. I'm very use to Redhat's, sendmail, Dovecot combo. But this customer needed calendars... and I wanted to find something that tied into LDAP for later use with samba.

Anyway, at the end there, I am tring to say again, that I REALLY like this product. I've had some complaints and issues with Zimbra Desktop on Vista, but aside from that it has been running well.

Are there any problems sending/receiving if they use the webmail interface? I'd also try getting everyone on the same version of the desktop client.

It isn't constent enough to know whether it is just one or the other. If I had to guess, it is occuring more frequently with ZimbraDesktop.

I will likely be updating the version of Zimbra everyone is using the next time I am physically out there. Otherwise, it is hard to get everything together.

So, is there a reason not to add the host ID to mydestinations. Localhost is already there.

You do not need to modify it, localhost should be sufficient.

Check the log files for any errors around the tiome of the problem emails.
