Default create distribution lists

Dear All,

We're helping a college to migration from an email system based on Postfix, customer has > 900 distribution lists, and each list may contain from 5 to hundreds members.

We're using shell script to use such command :

zmprov cdl list@domain
zmprov adlm list@domain member@domain (loop)

but from our observation, it takes long time to complete the whole > 900 lists. I don't know if there's faster way for this purpose?

Thanks.
Rgds,
Kevin

Actually, I'm thinking if it's possible to do directly insert such distribution list to ZCS's LDAP structure, but I'm not sure if this's possible to do that??? any experience on this?

thanks

It's possible you could do that, but I'd really suggest just using zmprov to accomplish this task. You'll be much less likely to accidently mess up the ldap structure that way. You can also specify multiple addresses on the command-line with adlm:

zimbra@mail:~> zmprov adlm
usage: addDistributionListMember(adlm) {list@domain|id} {member@domain}+
