The first thing to do is always use the su command with the hyphen, like this:

Code:
su - zimbra
It's important to set the environment using that command. Next, the 'zmprov sp' command only sets the password for an Admin user i.e. a user that's logging in to the Admin UI as an Administrator.

Have you checked to see if the certificates are expired on your server? If you have an expired Are all thee services up and running:

Code:
su - zimbra
zmcontrol status
Has this problem started since you've updated the certificate as mentioned in your earlier post? Was this a change from a self-signed certificate to the purchased certificate (if not, why the new certificate)?

Yes, actually the problems started yesterday with an expired commercial ssl certificates. I tried to purchase some new ones from godaddy, but these failed to match. I'm at a loss what to do at this point and I don't know if I can just remove these? and insert self-signed maybe?

Kind Regards,

I'd really like to get the hang of this Zimbra server because it has so many features. Can I assign a self-signed cert for the time being? and then work on getting the commercial ssl cert operational? I haven't seen any threads regarding this as an alternative.

Best,

AJ

Bill,

In answer to your question, here is the output from that command:

zimbra@zimbra:/$ zmcontrol status
Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Unable to determine enabled services. Cache is out of date or doesn't exist.

After changing over the ssl certs and also adjusting the "hostname" "hosts" files, this is the error i'm seeing. I also noticed that for some reason the servername is still set on the old ssl domain name, can't seem to figure out how to resolve or adjust that.

Kind Regards,

AJ

Just for confirmation, can you post the output of all the commands in the 'Verify....' section of the Split DNS article.

You should be able to regenerate the self-signed certificates by running the commands in this wiki article.
