lvm snapshot and backup server

hi,
i'm using 5.0.1 OS with a main server and backup server.

each night i stop, snap, restart then rsync the snap to the working dir on the back up (and archive a daily backup).

periodically i check the backup system to make sure its up to speed.

everything seems to be ok, emails up to date, but last week i enabled documents and briefcase on the main system and these changes have not appeared on the backup, even though emails etc seem to be.

i am copying the whole directory, so i thought the backup would be a replica?

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
