    I ran across the same issue, the mail was not delevered for duplicate message-id:

    Code:
    mailbox.log.2010-06-23:2010-06-23 17:53:37,771 INFO  [LmtpServer-24482] [ip=192.168.30.5;] lmtp - Delivering message: size=34582 bytes, nrcpts=3, sender=user@domain.com, msgid=<!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAJaD01H6XMxKoM5eYzemjADCgAAAEAAAAMCEUv/eYNxJkBjeGH+FkW8BAAAAAA==@domain.com>
    mailbox.log.2010-06-23:2010-06-23 17:53:37,771 INFO  [LmtpServer-24482] [name=e444825@domain.it;mid=12;ip=192.168.30.5;] lmtp - Not delivering message with duplicate Message-ID <!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAJaD01H6XMxKoM5eYzemjADCgAAAEAAAAMCEUv/eYNxJkBjeGH+FkW8BAAAAAA==@domain.com>
    mailbox.log.2010-06-23:2010-06-23 17:53:37,771 INFO  [LmtpServer-24482] [name=e488578@domain.it;mid=9;ip=192.168.30.5;] lmtp - Not delivering message with duplicate Message-ID <!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAJaD01H6XMxKoM5eYzemjADCgAAAEAAAAMCEUv/eYNxJkBjeGH+FkW8BAAAAAA==@domain.com>
    mailbox.log.2010-06-23:2010-06-23 17:53:37,771 INFO  [LmtpServer-24482] [name=e494663@domain.it;mid=5;ip=192.168.30.5;] lmtp - Not delivering message with duplicate Message-ID <!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAJaD01H6XMxKoM5eYzemjADCgAAAEAAAAMCEUv/eYNxJkBjeGH+FkW8BAAAAAA==@domain.com>

    there is another message of 16-06-2010 with the same message-id, but it's a different message:
    Code:
    mailbox.log.2010-06-16:2010-06-16 18:49:30,411 INFO  [LmtpServer-20651] [name=e444825@domain.it;mid=12;ip=192.168.30.5;] mailop - Adding Message: id=52815, Message-ID=<!&!AAAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAJaD01H6XMxKoM5eYzemjADCgAAAEAAAAMCEUv/eYNxJkBjeGH+FkW8BAAAAAA==@domain.com>, parentId=-1, folderId=2, folderName=Inbox.
    domain.com and domain.it are placeholders

    I wonder how can be there 2 messages with the same massage-id, whene they are totally different?
    Aren't message-id a random string such that proabability of 2 collapse message-is is very very far?
    Is this a zimbra bug?
