Default [SOLVED] Logger question.

Hi....

A few weeks ago i asked about the size of logger folder... and the ways to reduce it.....

I have a Zimbra installation since may 2008 (about 8 months) and that folder has a size of: 9 GB. So my questions is:

When this complete a year (on May 2009) i calculate it will has a size of 18 GB Aprox. so:

What will happend in the nexts months?, the database will be bigger? or it will start to rotate and conserve the same size (18 GB)?

If Not, if the database will not rotate and will be bigger every month, is there a way to delete the older months?

Thanks a lot for any input-.

Michael.-

By default logger stores 31days of raw logs and 730 days of summary logs. I'd start by reducing the raw log storage interval to 7d and it should dramatically reduce the size of your database on a busy system.

In order to apply the changes i have to restart the services, right?

Because i changed the value, but the logger db still is growing up.

Thanks.

Yes, most often the configuration values are read during service startup.

Hi... I set the log storage interval to 10d and then restarted the zimbra services and the size of logger db was smaller then.. but after a week i have my logger db with 20 GB again... in one week... so I restarted the zimbra services again and I came back to 14 GB..... so my questions are:

I have to restart the zimbra services every week to the value of zimbraLogRawLifetime 10d could be apllied?

Or I have to wait 10 days and only will grow up until that?

Thanks for any reply...
