Default Inbound SMTP host name??

Dear all,

Recently, we're evaluating current 5.0.11 version while one of our customers is still using 5.0.9. And we found there's one new config :

"Inbound SMTP host name" in Global Settings --> MTA

any idea what is this for? although it's clear that we should enter the server name of our MX record , e.g. anti-spam equipment.

Thanks.

I too would like to know how to enter multiple inbound hosts. We have 2 hosts that do filtering a high priority and lower priority MX. How do we list multiple hosts.

From

http://wiki.zimbra.com/index.php?tit...y-Hostname-DNS

If your MX records point to a spam-relay or any other external non-Zimbra server, enter the name of that server in the Inbound SMTP host name field. This check compares the domain MX setting against the zimbraInboundSmtpHostname setting, if set. If this attribute is not set, the domain MX setting is checked against zimbraSmtpHostname.

Default Multiple Inbound SMTP Host Name

If you do have multiple Inbound SMTP host names, (1) is there a way to list them all, (2) is there a way to use a wildcard type of format, or (3) if you list just one what are the implications?

I'm currently setting up Red Condor and they have asked me to setup four MX records. I added just the MX record with the highest priority / lowest value to the Inbound SMTP host name field and everything does appear to be working, although if mail is getting rejected I don't think I even have any place to see it.

I've read the help, but it doesn't address this issue. Can anyone help with this?

Darryl

Search bugzilla for the words 'smtp hostname' then check the Product Portal for implementation targets for any bugs you find.
