amavis stops running, no email gets through

I have the following error in logprocess.out in /tmp under ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS


Error executing select distinct(host) from amavis where arrive_time >= '2008-11-20 13:00:00' and arrive_time <= '2008-11-20 14:00:00' with
Table './zimbra_logger/amavis' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed
Table './zimbra_logger/amavis' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmlogprocess line 1135.

I can't find anything in the forum about this...Can anyone help me?

P.S. No replies yet, so editing. Did a repair table and all is fine for now. I guess I need to know what can cause this error so I can prevent it in the future.
