Default Complex ZCS Migration

I want to migrate my current Zimbra installation

ZCS 4.5.11 NE
RHEL4
32-bit
physical installation

to

ZCS 5.0.10 NE
RHEL5
64-bit
virtual machine (on a different server).

That’s a lot going on! I’ve read the wiki article about moving from 32-bit to 64-bit. That itself is a bit “messy.” Also, there is the transition from tomcat to jetty with the version 5 upgrade.

So, basically I’m asking for advice on how to best make this move. For example, should I go ahead and upgrade to 5.0.10 on my current box before attempting a migration? Since I’ll be moving to a virtual machine, should I just create a 32-bit VM and do the migration, then sometime down the road migrate to 64-bit?

Thanks !

Well, does anyone have any advice on how NOT to perform this migration?

Thanks!

Upgrade the version of Zimbra you have installed, take a backup before and after the upgrade then follow the instructions in the wiki article.
