So do you only want ZCS to be a SMTP relay ? if so, then why use ZCS and not just setup Postfix/Sendmail ?

Smile I need web based access

I am working on RHEL5 and I want to configure a mail server, which can work
with both private network and public network. and provides web based access, and ldap authentication. any user of my private domain can send mail via my mail server to any mail id.
In short I can say, as exchange server is working in microsoft.

So, I thought zimbra..
Is sendmail or postfix is best choice for my scenario????

any help...please

thanks

Well if you are on a private LAN you will need to setup a Split DNS :: Wiki architecture. Once ZCS is installed you have a choice of using the Ajax/HTML client or a fat client like Outlook/Thunderbird. If you want full syncronisation with ZCS and Outlook though you would need to purchase the NE version. Otherwise if you just want people to have a nice clean client and accessible from anywhere then go with the Ajax client

Yes you can put a forwarder on your account, and also setup ZCS to relay all email through your ISP.

Yes, you'll find it in the forums or wiki if you search for it.
