Default Zimbra Admin Account Password Recovery

Hi,
I installed Zimbra with no issues, now however whenever I go to the admin console it will not accept my username and password, in the installation I did set an admin account and password. I have re-ran the setup script several times thinking that perhaps the password was too weak, but stronger password combinations (ie alphanumeric + Capital letters + lowercase letters + special chars), without any luck. I have even entered every combination, although I am pretty sure its admin@domain.com. I am able to create accounts via command line useing zmprov. Any Ideas? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advanced!

Two things.

- Make sure your logging in with the full admin@domain

- You can reset your admin password with zmprov

Code:
zmprov sp admin@domain.com PASSWORD

Default No admin account

I tried the zmprov command, but it looks like the install script for some reason did not install an admin account. Is there a way to create is elevate the privelidges of another user to be the admin? The message I get is;
ERROR: account.NO_SUCH_ACCOUNT (no such account: admin@domain.com)
Thanks!

Default Thanks

Worked fine. I downloaded the Admin guide but it did not elaborate too much on the zm* scripts/commands. Thanks a bunch! You kick tail!

I seem to be having a similar problem. The admin account worked for a day and now all of a sudden I get "Authentication Failed":
Code:
2006-11-28 10:51:35,097 WARN  [http-7071-Processor50] [ip=xxxxxx;] security - cmd=AdminAuth; account=admin; error=authentication failed for admin;
I tried logging in with a different account with Admin privileges but got the same message. Tried to create a new account with Admin privileges...same thing:
Code:
2006-11-28 11:58:34,563 INFO  [http-7071-Processor48] [ip=127.0.0.1;name=zimbra;] security - cmd=CreateAccount; name=theadmin@domain.com; zimbraIsAdminAccount=TRUE;
2006-11-28 11:58:47,293 WARN  [http-7071-Processor49] [ip=xxxxxx;] security - cmd=AdminAuth; account=theadmin; error=authentication failed for theadmin;
zm* commands work fine. Just cannot log in thru the UI. Any clue?

Try https instead of http, it's been mentioned a few times on the forums.

Thank you. I have been using HTTPS and not HTTP (using HTTP won't even bring up the login page).

Aaah. User error. I was not specifying the FQDN when logging in. Not a problem anymore.
