Default Backups on a Windows Machine

Hi guys i got a zimbra network 5.0.4 on a Red Hat 5 it works fine, but now i want to use another path for my backups, i just got a windows machine to do this, so i mount a volume on my red hat with samba and it seems to work fine, i mean i had copy and erase some files into it, and have no problem, actually i also have 777 mode on this directory, but while i'm getting zimbra backups, i got the sessions folder created, also the full or incremental folder created but when it starts to back up the data, it says that i have not permison to do it so on that folder and the backup stops, is there any problem to obtain backups on a windows machine? it must be any lunix machine better? thanks any help,
