Default Help: After 5.0.7->5.0.10 Upgrade, Lost Users

I recently got around to upgrading my zimbra server from 5.0.7 to 5.0.10 and after I did that all my users have disappeared from the account manager. The users are *technically* still there as we're still getting email, but they are just not listed. The only accounts listed are system accounts like the spam/ham accounts, wiki account, and the admin account. But all the normal user accounts aren't showing up.

Also note, that when I try to add a user that's already there, I get an error saying the user is already there. So the accounts are *there*, but they just aren't showing up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ajay

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I also have the Samba PDC stuff installed as well (but we're just testing that, not actually running a Samba PDC yet).

Will that cause issues when I upgrade?

okay, I'm pretty sure it's the Samba/Posix stuff. I couldn't find any clear cut rules on how to purge all that stuff from LDAP. And if I did, will that fix the issue? I really don't want to re-install Zimbra if I don't have to.

Thanks

Default Problem occurs after 5.0.10 -> 5.0.11 Upgrade

Hi,

the same problem also occurred after an upgrade from 5.0.10_GA to 5.0.11_GA.

All user accounts with definitions for Posix and Samba disappeared from Admin-Console and even 'zmprov gaa'.

Nevertheless these users are available with 'zmprov ga account' and there luckily (up to now) seems to be no impact on their web frontend.

Three users without such definitions are still accessable, as are all system accounts (which also had no Posix/Samba entries).

Additionally all Posix and Samba entries in Admin-Console have disappeared.

Furthermore LDAP does not export any informations about any of the missing items.

This is or may develop to a major problem for us as I have no idea how to fix this horrific error.

Funnily Admin-Console does name the missing accounts in entries for 'Aliases' and 'Mailinglists'.

Please HELP!

Greetings - blue4koala

Default Problem Solved!!!

Hi All,

after some experiments I solved the problems described above. It seems that conf/slapd.conf.in was simply missing the lines:

Code:
include "/opt/zimbra/openldap/etc/openldap/schema/nis.schema"
include "/opt/zimbra/openldap/etc/openldap/schema/samba.schema"
After this change and restart all users reappeared and LDAP returned to business as usual.

Note: Before this change I de-installed and re-installed admin extensions zimbra_posixaccounts and zimbra_samba, but I don't think that is necessary.

Nevertheless Zimbra's update mechanism should be changed not to erase such (advised) changes in slapd.conf.in

Sincerely - blue4koala

If you think there was a problem with this please file a bug report or RFE in bugzilla.
