Keep Mail out of spam folder

Hello everyone

I just recently built a zimbra server im still working some configuration kinks out. When I send mail to yahoo/hotmail. The mail is found in the spam folder. I have read yahoo's spam rules on that make the necessary changes. Is there something I can do on the zimbra side.

I did notice from thunderbird or any mail client is when it happens. If i send mail from the web client seems to work consistently but only on yahoo.

Well a lot will depend on your setup. Do you have a fixed IP address ? Does your IP address reverse lookup to your ZCS server hostname ? Are you using DKIM or anything like that ? Do you send out directly or relay through your ISP ?

Yes fixed IP
Yes reverse lookup is taken care of.
Whats DKIM
Mail goes out from zimbra to the net. zimbra ---> firewall ---> internet

I also found a post that showed how to add my domain to the whitelist to help with the issue. Did that it didnt work.

there are sites out there where you can input your mail server IP and they will tell you if you're on any blacklists. i cna't remember the name of any offhand but you should be able to google and find some.

checked spamhaus.com and another rbl as well not listed.

I would if it is because it sees a local LAN IP within the message headers. Hmmm, may have to do a re-write on the way out to strip that.

I have tried the last post from that link it didnt strip any info away. Im added the line to checks.in file and restarted postfix no luck and restarted the server no luck.

I think im going to just live with it. i have not been able to find a solution. What frustrating is i went through all of this to get a confirmation app off exchange.
