Exchange migration and two-byte text

I have two Japanese users who have reported that following their migration from Exchange, their mails containing two-byte text show up with blank message bodies. Manually dumping the mails to a local file, then copying them works fine, and new mails sent or received after the migration appear to be fine. Unfortunately , I have limited information from them so there is not a lot to go on.

Are there any known issues with the Exchange Migration utility and international character sets?
