Default Upgrading the mysql in Zimbra

Hi,

is there any way to upgrade the MySQL version used by Zimbra? We're having issues in the stability of our setup due to a MySQL-bug (MySQL Bugs: #20358: InnoDB hang on the adaptive hash index latch in btr0sea.c). I already filed a bug in Zimbra for this (Bug 32566 – MySQL 5.0.51a deadlocks on certain queries), but it seems that this will not be a quick-fix, and I need to do something to make my setup reliable again (so my customers stop complaining).

The only solution I see is replacing the MySQL with a newer version, but I assume this would break a lot, and make upgrades nearly impossible.

Any suggestions anyone?

Rgds,
-bg

There is no provided method of upgrading MySQL within Zimbra and I'd recommend you don't try it, wait for the official upgrade.

Is anyone else having this problem? It sounds pretty serious

We have had to reboot our Zimbra server 4 times the last week because of this bug. It's really annoying!

(I work for the same company as wonko, so same case, not a different one).

Zimbra: is there really no way to upgrade the MySQL?

Unfortunately no, but a new release of ZCS should be on its way very soon so hopefully MySQL will have been upgraded aswell

Just opened Support Case 00031651 for this. It's a major PITA and makes my customers lose believe in Zimbra as a solution
