Question Migration Issues

I'm currently looking into migrating 500+ users to zimbra, problem is that we would like to do this in groups of users rather than all at once. This means that zimbra will start out with it's domain being zimbra.domain.com, and the exchange server at domain.com will forward email for anyone already migrated. I would like to force zimbra to use user@domain.com for from addresses instead of user@zimbra.domain.com, any easy way to accomplish this with zimbra? I could solve these problems with postfix configuration, but zimbra likes to overwrite the postfix configuration files so my changes would dissapear.

check out the split domain wiki page. what postfix parameters are you trying to set? some are modified via zimbra instead.

The split domain document doesn't detail how to get outlook to forward to the zimbra server, any ideas?

You can just point Outlook at the zimbra server. Shouldn't need any magic there.

Sorry, meant exchange. I've implemented a solution i think will work by using zimbra.domain.com as a forward from the exchange server and I've setup a canonical map for zimbra.domain.com to be rewritten to domain.com
