Ldap/AD autodiscovery of user

I have configured zimbra to auth in my ldap.

Is there a way to automate the discovery and the creation of new zimbra user? I'd like something like:

* when a new user is created in ldap/ad --> "automagically" the user is created in zimbra.

I don't believe you can do that so why not just write a script which will add the user to AD and then create the Zimbra user. This would be fairly trivial to do in PHP especially using the module adLDAP.
