Default Mail disappears

Hi,

I am administrating 2 ZCS Open Source servers, v 5.0.9 running on CentOS.
I am now experiencing that some messages get lost, i.e. never gets delivered to the recipient. Today, I actually saw the reception of a message in /log/mailbox.log, but the message itself is nowhere to be found in any of the users folders - there are no filters anywhere that should remove the message either.

Here is a line from the log:

Code:
mailbox.log:2008-10-22 10:26:14,676 INFO [LmtpServer-8954] [ip=195.159.69.42;] lmtp - Delivering message: size=2548 bytes, nrcpts=1, sender=aa@yy.no, msgid=<414B266BE097D9488A88A0DB41E04DBA186B8B@yy.yy.local>
mailbox.log:2008-10-22 10:26:14,678 INFO [LmtpServer-8954] [name=xxx@xx.xx;mid=6;] mailop - Adding Message: id=29412, Message-ID=<414B266BE097D9488A88A0DB41E04DBA186B8B@yy.yy.local>, parentId=-1, folderId=2, folderName=Inbox.
I've had sporadic reports from users that mail doesn't get delivered and now I experience it myself.

How do I go about tracking down what has happened, and what could possibly be causing this?

Cheers,

-Morten

Check your DNS/network settings. Take a look at this thread.

Hmmm - a little digging around makes me think that this could be due to DNS/protcol checks in zimbra mta-admin. I've set the servers to be pretty restrictive, and that could be why emails are disappearing.
I'll loosen up the grip a bit and see what happens.

Cheers,
