Default nio_pop3_enabled = true can improve POP3 performance

Hello

I have a server with 2000 users 90% pop3 users
Zimbra 5.0.6 OSS fedora 7
Server is Quad core 2.13GHz Xeon 2 GB memory SATA RAID 0 with drbd with other server.

Server load is about 7 and users with imap / web are starting to complain about slow access

I found this option "nio_pop3_enabled = false", it is disabled, if I enable this will the pop3, imap performance get any better?

Or what anyone suggest to improve performance more memory, disk

Thanks

You should follow steps on this page:

Performance Tuning Guidelines for Large Deployments - Zimbra :: Wiki

AFAK nio_pop3_enabled is always kept false. You should see if there are any errors in mailbox.log after doing performance tuning from above wiki.

Hi Irfan

We already did most of the things discribed there, what do you suggest as the MOST
important parameter that can improve POP3 and make the load goes down?

I have worked with courier imap/pop server and this machine with the same 2000 users
would not be with a 7 load avarage. I know zimbra is not courier but maybe I can tune it
to get a better performance and a smaller load with zimbra.

Anything in special should I look to identify what is killing the server?

Thanks
