where the emails text stored ?

i wanted to know where is the directory the text of the emails are stored and also if there is more than one domain, are the emails stored in different folders ?

/opt/zimbra/store

All the mail is under that directory in different trees. It's not sorted by domain just account. The mapping of all the domain/account data is stored in MySQL.

for some reason the managers here want to know if there is a way to gather all messages for a certain domain (for all users) and put them in file(s). when they ask for it ?

I am thinking I can query the mysql DB and then find all paths in the folder and build a script, but do you know of any script or way to do that ?

Well if you just export/backup each user that would be one way. This is easy with the backup tools in the Network Edition. For the OSS Edition you'll have to as you say roll your own script that queries MySQL and finds the data.
