Default Toaster uses .net? *Ick*.

So, does anyone have any recommendations for a Windows tray notifier that does *not* require me to install 175MB of crap?

Agreed, we use Zimbra to get away from Windows crap and then toaster forces us to use it. There are plenty of imap/pop3 checkers for free. Just google for them, imapnotify is one that I have used.

There is a Zimbra Notifier, not free but pretty cheap. You can find a link to it on the zimbra zimlet gallery page I don't think that uses .net and it's better than toaster too.

The third party notifier is much better than the Zimbra toaster at this stage of it's development. No, it doesn't use .Net. And unlike the Zimbra toaster it checks both mail and appointments.

The only downside to it from our perspective is that it checks all your folders, including shared folders, for new items. Folks who share other people's mailboxes sometimes disable the notifier entirely for that reason.

Not sure of the exact name but I've used a couple of freeware notifiers. There's a few out there, all they have to do is poll on pop3 or imap and Zimbra supports both.

That's not the one I used, if you google imapnotify (one word) you'll get to the one I tried after a few clicks.
