Default Plus-addressing inside distribution list?

I'm trying to use plus-addressing in an email address for a member of a distribution list. I have added the email address including the plus-addressing part as a member of a distribution list.

When I send to the contact address directly (something like joe+test@sampledomain.com), everything works fine. The address is for an account on an external server that accepts plus-addressing.

However, if I send a message to the distribution list on my Zimbra server (list@myserver.com) of which joe+test@sampledomain.com is a member, the email arrives at joe@sampledomain.com fine, but without the plus addressing info.

I have disabled plus addressing on my Zimbra server to make sure it's not causing problems.

Does anyone know how I can get plus-addressing for distribution list members to work?
