Default [SOLVED] DNS error ?????

Hi,

This morning I put my Zimbra server into production and I face few problems.

1) Some of the poeple not able to send mail to us. They have below error messages.

This is the mail system at host zimbra.tsimsia.local.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.

The mail system Host or domain name not found. Name service error
for name=zimbra.tsimsia.local type=A: Host not found

Fyi, I setup a BIND service together with my ZImbra Server and the version of ZImbra I using is Zimbra Collaboration Suite 5.0 64 bits. I install it in RHEL5 server.

May I know is it really DNS error? I test with gmail and yahoo mail...I can receive the mail sent by gmail and yahoo.

Hi, if you can recieve mails, but cannot send, you really need to check your DNS server. Login to your shell, type: nslookup, hit enter, type: set type=mx, hit enter, type: yahoo.com. See if it brings out the mx recorrds of yahoo MX servers. If it does not resolve the MX records, then you need to check your bind configuration. Or check if your resolve.conf point to the localhost.
