This is more than likely a full partition on your HD, have you checked the space? What errors do you see in the zimbra logs?

    Hi Bill,

    thanks for your replay.
    the disk space is:
    Code:
    zimbra@zimbra2:~$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda1 17G 5.7G 11G 36% /
    varrun 653M 44K 653M 1% /var/run
    varlock 653M 4.0K 653M 1% /var/lock
    udev 653M 52K 653M 1% /dev
    devshm 653M 0 653M 0% /dev/shm
    it is a VirtualDisk vmware

    how to check the logs?

    regards

    Urs

it works again! It was a problem with the file system in ubuntu and not zimbra.
I restarted ubuntu again and noticed the an error regarding the file system, I should check it with "fsck" and I just did that and now Zimbra works again.

thank you very much for your help!

    best regards

    Urs

Default Before a read-only filesystem with zimbra

Hi, I had the same problem (read-only filesystem).
I'm using VMware ESXi and CentOS5.
After a reboot, I did the fsck and the filesystem become OK again.
The problem is that the ldap is not working now.
I tried to restore from backup the /opt/zimbra/openldap-data, setting the correct premissions and don't worked...
Before some googling, I found some things for ensuring that the filesystem don't become read-only again. (sorry about my english...)
I removed an nfs entry from fstab, updated my CentOS from 5.0 to 5.2 and updated the vmware esxi.
    Doesn't work...
I tried to restore a full backup, but it really doesn't work.
Now I'm thinking to install a fresh CentOS 5.2 and reinstall Zimbra.
Can I import all the data and configs from the "old" zimbra to the new?
