    Default Split domain

    Hi,

We have two site and i want to configure split domain between these two domains. I have simple configure it

    I have following queries
1)Spilt Domain enables between site FMC and LHR. (mail send through FMC and delivered on LHR mailbox) it is done.
2)User FMCuser1 and FMCuser2 exist on FMC and user LHRuser1 and LHRuser2 exist on LHR.
If Mr. Smith sends mail to LHRuser1 then mail will be delivered through FMC and received at LHRuser1 mail box. it is done.
    3) If LHR site is unavailable, where will be mail delivered.
    4) If FMCuser1 and LHRuser1 is member of a mailing list, how a site determine the other user
    5) If forward set on FMCuser2 and forwarder exists on LHR
    6) Main server FMC is unavailable

    Thanks

Most mtas are configured by default to retry to deliver messages for a few days. So as long as your LHR site is not down for a really long time, messages should be delivered when it comes back up. FMC will hold the messages in a queue. You can of course tweak this in postfix.

    4) If FMCuser1 and LHRuser1 is member of a mailing list, how a site determine the other user
I'm not sure what you're asking here. what other user?

    5) If forward set on FMCuser2 and forwarder exists on LHR
Are you talking about a forwarding loop? Like is LHRuser2 is forwarding back to FMCuser2? You would create a nasty loop.

    6) Main server FMC is unavailable
Just like when LHR is down, it will be dependant on other mtas to try to resend the messages. However, you're at the mercy of other admins. Say some company's server is configured only to try to resend an e-mail for 12 hours. If your LHR is down for a whole day, then people from that company who tried to send an e-mail will get an undeliverable message from their server.

If you have a business line, you may want to talk to your isp. They can often offer a backup mx so if your server is down they can queue mail from the internet for you for long periods of time and then deliver it via uucp or something when you're back up.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I have achive all my issue.

I have run the following commands

    Primary. 192.168.0.121
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailCatchAllAddress @example.com
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailCatchAllForwardingAddress @example.com
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailTransport smtp:192.168.0.121

    Secondary 192.168.0.223
    ./zmprov ca bar@example.com i2cinc
    ./zmprov ma bar@example.com zimbraMailTransport smtp:192.168.0.223:25
    ./zmprov ma bar@example.com zimbraMailTransport lmtp:192.168.0.121:7025

I have send mail from 223 and recived on 121

    Then
    Primary. 192.168.0.223
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailCatchAllAddress @example.com
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailCatchAllForwardingAddress @example.com
    ./zmprov md example.com zimbraMailTransport smtp:192.168.0.223

    Secondary 192.168.0.121
    ./zmprov ca foo@example.com i2cinc
    ./zmprov ma foo@example.com zimbraMailTransport smtp:192.168.0.121:25
    ./zmprov ma foo@example.com zimbraMailTransport lmtp:192.168.0.223:7025

I have send mail from 121 and recived on 223.

Now i have some more questions

    1) A user(bar) actually exists on 121 server and its relay user exixts on other(223). If i shutdown 121 server and login with bar user at 223 sever i cant see any mail in this account.
    2) If i want to shift user(bar) from 121 to 223.
    3) If it possible i can replicate the useraccount or mailing list. Because its realy increase the administration

    Thanks

    Mudasar
