[SOLVED] User can't log into Advanced session

Morning folks,

I have a user, who is unable to log into her account via Advanced Mode (AJAX). She's able to log in via standard without a hitch. This problem arose when we upgraded from 5.0.6 -> 5.0.9.

Here is what IE7 reports as the error when trying to login using Advanced Mode:

Char: 1
Error: '_field' is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL:  http://server/zimbra/mail

I used server instead of our DNS name. Trust me it's a legit url otherwise..

I have 150+ users and everyone is able to login using AJAX but her. I've tried logging in using the Admin UI and get the same error. Doesn't matter what computer I use, that account can't login using Advanced mode.

Any ideas??

Anything is your Log Files - Zimbra :: Wiki referring to any errors on that specific account ?

May not help but have you tried re-indexing that account from the Admin GUI ?

Yeah. That was the first thing I tried...

Basically, FF doesn't report any errors, just sits there. If the user tries IE6/7 they get the initial error I posted.

I wouldn't call the issue solved, but I was able to create a new user for the person, renamed the old account, and then use zimbraMigrate to transfer the data over to the new account. She is now able to login using Advanced Mode with the new account.

I've archived the old account incase she needs something off of it..

Sorry to bring this thread back up.

I'm having a similar problem with one account hanging at the Advanced login screen. I have not performed an upgrade before this occured - the user has been logged in to her account all day as usual. I have tried re-indexing the mailbox but this has not solved the problem, neither has restarting mailboxd. Before closing the user's browser on the Zimbra session, all her folders appeared empty - none of them contained messages.

I'd like to provide more information but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. What is zimbraMigrate, mentioned above?

I wasn't able to "solve" the problem, I just bypassed it.

What I wound up doing is creating a new account for the user. I then used zimbraMigrate to move the information from the old account to the new account.

Once all the data was moved over, I simply archived the old account and renamed the new account to the old username.

@omegainstitute: Thanks very much for the link. I ended up doing the same in the end and it seems to have worked I think we'll have one happy user in the morning but I'd still love to know why it happened.
